I was recently given a small broken chair to repair for my youngest grandson, and so I persuaded The Significant Other to make a new seat for it.
Chair in need of TLC
Once the chair seat had been replaced , I gave it a coat of primer.
Prime the chair before painting
When the primer is dry it can be painted over with chalk paints.
The second chair in need of TLC. This one has been in my studio getting grubby and was in need of a makeover.
The first job was to take out the chair seat and then to remove its cover.
Remove the old seat cover
The second job is to wipe down and then sand the old chair before giving it a fresh coat of chalk paint.
I chose the new paint colour to go with a tapestry that I wanted to use for the chair seat.
Staple a new cushion cover to the underside of the chair pad and insert into the chair.
