Desk dividers, that can help with social distancing.

I was recently sent some information by a company called Tektura Wallcoverings . They make contract wall coverings and screens. As they say in their brochure ‘We work with manufacturers who create stunning products, and are willing to take risks and lead the way in technology.’

In parallel the company also work with designers and architects who want to create beautiful interiors. They started in 1964 and their research and development team are continuously exploring new ideas and design trends to bring highly usable, innovative product to market.

The whole range is designed to provide sound absorption along with a decorative solution. The level of sound absorption depends on position, thickness and so on.
The screens are made from 100% polyester, and and are made to order, with a turn round time of 2 -3 weeks.

What interested me particularly were the desk screens and whether or not they could be used in offices as smart designer alternatives to the clear Perspex screens, that are about to become the norm until the Covid 19 epidemic is over.

When I asked their press office about this, she replied
‘These are already part of our range, but we’ve carried out tests recently in light of Covid. The results are that they can be cleaned with diluted bleach without affecting the surface texture or colour. We’ve left bleach on the surface for weeks with no change to the colour. So normal marks and stains come off easily, and no smear marks like you’d get with a clear see-thru screen.
Beyond that, they’re an easy way of defining space and helping with social distancing.’
